2026-2027 Academic Year History Department Orientation Program

The Department of History will organize a History Department Orientation Program to help our newly registered students adapt to university and department life during the 2026–2027 academic year. Planned as a two-day event, the program will provide students with information regarding the academic structure of the Department of History, the educational process, course registration, academic advising services, student responsibilities, and the academic opportunities available within the department. The program will also allow our students to meet the faculty members and receive information on any topics they are curious about.

Orientation Presentation and Meet-and-Greet Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2026 Time: 13:30 Location: Classroom MF-Z-08

On the first day of the program, a general introduction to the Department of History will be presented. Students will be informed about the academic operations of the department, educational processes, the curriculum, the academic advising system, and important matters to consider throughout their studies. During the meet-and-greet, students' questions will be answered, and guidance regarding the adaptation process to university life will be provided.

Library and Research Orientation Date: Wednesday, September 23, 2026 Time: 13:30 Location: Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim Library

On the second day of the program, the Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim Library and its services will be introduced to our students through practical applications. In this context, information will be provided on accessing electronic databases, catalog search methods, utilizing printed and electronic resources, basic research techniques, and borrowing procedures. The library and research orientation aims to ensure that our students are familiar with the information resources they will need for their academic studies, can access reliable sources, and use library services effectively.
