“Career Days” Organized by Our Maritime Career Group

 

Maritime Faculty, Maritime Career Community organized "Career Days" for two full days. The program, attended by the leading names of the maritime and logistics industry, was held between 28-29 March by Prof. Dr. It was held at the Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall. At the opening of the career days, Dean of our University's Maritime Faculty Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sarı gave a speech on the importance of the program.

After the opening, the first session of the day was held. Pacific Line Shipping Chairman of the Board Ömer Koray Dedeoğlu attended the session as a guest. Giving important information about maritime business in his speech, Dedeoğlu also shared information about his experiences in business life. The afternoon session of the program was attended by Onelog Manager Arzu Çoban, which is engaged in international sea and air transportation. In his speech, Çoban made a presentation on their work on seaway partial service. The program, in which students participated with their questions, continued with the speech of Borusan Lojistik- Borusan Port Operations Manager Kazım Kesgin. In his speech, Kesgin shared information on partial and special distribution, milkrun, storage and production logistics, supply chain solutions and vehicle logistics services. Later in the program, EvyapPort Sales and Marketing Manager Çağlar Eradaş made a presentation on logistics processes such as the storage and shipment of raw materials. Session Yılnak A.Ş. General Manager CEO Ömer Gece, Operations Officer Ömer Batuhan Konaş, Project and Heavy Transportation Service Manager Özgür Bircan ended with their speeches on heavy transportation and project transportation.

Mediterranean Shipping Company Regional Manager Arzu Avşar and Organizational Development and Education Specialist Ezgi Çınardalı attended the first session of the second day of the career days, which students followed with interest. In the session, besides maritime transport, the services provided in the field of road, railway and storage infrastructure were mentioned. In the afternoon session of the program, Yılport Holding, Gemport Sales Manager Emre Atay made a presentation on port and container terminal operations. The next session of the career days continued with the speech of Sinan Yöndem from Daff Logistics, which provides services in the international transportation and logistics sector. As a Key Account Manager, Yondem shared detailed information on airline transportation services and the execution of operations. The program continued with a speech by Onur Uçar, Ceva Logistics Human Resources Manager, on which areas the candidates aiming for a career in the logistics sector should invest in themselves. The last speaker of the career days was Türkon Line Regional Manager Yeliz Şahin. Şahin gave information about the operations they carried out in maritime transport. Career days, which are important for students to come together with professionals in the sector, came to an end after a collective commemorative photograph.
