IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE EXAMS FOR THE 2020-2021 FALL SEMESTER MIDTERM EXAM

Since the midterm exams will be held by distance education method through the distance education system (LMS) in the 2020-2021 Academic Year Fall Semester at our university, Graduate-Undergraduate-Associate Degree students should pay attention to the matters stated in this announcement in addition to the regulations and directives stated below.

 

• Midterm make-up exams for students whose excuses are accepted in the academic units of our university will be scheduled and administered by the relevant unit between 14-18 December 2020.

 

• Make-up exams will not be held due to personal technical problems. It is important for students to take the necessary precautions before midterm exams. (Having different devices such as phones, computers and tablets ready for possible connection problems - providing a secure internet connection and taking the necessary precautions for power outages) You can apply to benefit from computer and internet facilities in your place of residence or near any higher education unit during the midterm exam period.

 

• When there is a technical problem with the distance education system (LMS) used in our university and you cannot complete your midterm due to a technical problem caused by the system, within the first 15 minutes after the end of the relevant exam, the screen image showing the technical problem and the petition describing the situation can be sent to the Student Information System (OBS) must be installed and applied. After examining the screenshots from the students and the official records in the distance education system LMS, your midterm excuse request will be evaluated.

 

• If you are unable to attend the midterm exam due to other excuses specified in the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Student Excuses Directive, you must upload your petition and proof of condition through the Student Information System (OBS) until Monday, December 7, 2020.

ARTICLE 26:

(3) Students who cannot take the midterm exam due to a valid excuse must report their situation to the relevant institute within five working days. Students whose excuses are accepted by the institute board of directors take the make-up exam. Students who do not take the final exam at the end of the semester or who fail the final exam take the make-up exam. For the students who cannot take the exams held before the jury such as thesis exam and proficiency exam due to their valid excuse, a new exam date is determined if they report their excuses to the relevant institute within five working days and their excuses are accepted by the board of directors of the relevant institute.

Make-up exam

 

ARTICLE 22:

(1) A make-up exam can be held with the decision of the relevant board of directors for students who cannot attend any of the midterm exams for justifiable and valid reasons * in Faculties, Schools and Vocational Schools.

 

Excuses

 

ARTICLE 34:

(1) If there are justified and valid reasons determined by the Senate, the decision of the student to be considered excused is decided by the relevant administrative board. For the acceptance of the excuse, it must be notified to the relevant Dean's Office or the Vocational School Directorate within five working days after the end of the excuse, along with the documents proving the justified and valid reasons. Applications not made on time are not accepted.

(2) In order for a student to be considered excused due to health problems, his / her health status must be documented with a medical report from any health institution. However, the duration of the medical report obtained for mental and physical illnesses that require long-term treatment cannot exceed four semesters within the maximum education period of the student. The grades taken by the students in the exams taken during their reporting period are considered invalid.
