The University's Decisions Made for the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year

Dear students,

Due to the ongoing risks of the COVID-19 pandemic, which threatens the whole world, it has been understood that it is not possible to conduct the fall semester teaching activities face to face, which will start on October 5, 2020. In this context, as a result of the decision taken by our university senate, it has been decided to conduct the learning activities to be carried out during the 2020-2021 Academic Year Fall Semester through Distance Education.

Process of Lessons

The courses to be taught in all academic programs within our university will be made synchronously (online live education) via EYS (LMS) and PERCULUS automation systems.

An information platform has been prepared where you can access detailed information about distance education activities during the pandemic period.

With this information system, which you can access via the link https://pandemi.bandirma.edu.tr , user guides, help videos, flow charts, and other helpful materials about how to use the distance education automation systems will be quickly accessible.

Live lesson times will be applied as 1 lesson hour, 20 minutes.

Some student-based reports to be used in applications to monitor the attendance of our students and encourage their attendance can be obtained from LMS.

The attendance conditions in the associate degree, undergraduate and graduate education legislation of our university will be considered in the evaluation of the attendance of the lecturers to the live lectures, the post-lecture viewing rates of the lectures, and related documents in virtual classrooms.

Applied Courses

It is essential that the lectures containing practice are held in application areas such as workshops and laboratories as much as possible. However, due to the global pandemic conditions, applied courses will be held synchronously, homework or projects will be given as supportive activities or an evaluation method deemed appropriate by the relevant instructor will be applied.

Assessment and Evaluation

As Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, we attach great importance that the exams are held in a physical environment. However, due to the current situation, it has been decided to make Midterm (Midterm) evaluations by online methods, and the decisions on how to make the final exams will be announced on the website of our university in the future, considering the course of the global epidemic.

In the evaluation of the exams, in accordance with the decision taken in our university senate;

Contribution of the evaluations within the term to the success grade is 30%,

The contribution of the evaluations made at the end of the term to the success grade will be calculated as 70%.

Midterm exams will be held by one of the following methods in the Fall semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year.

Test Method (Multiple Choice - Online Exam): The test exam will be held by answering multiple-choice questions. The LMS system asks different questions to each student from the question pool in a different order and by changing the places of answer choices. Automatic scoring is done according to your answers.

Classic exams: Classical exams can be done in two different ways.

Classical Method - I (Open-ended - Online Exam): Open-ended questions can be asked through the LMS system and the answers can be asked to be written in the answer section under the question. The exams for which textual expressions are required in the answers will be done with this method.

Classical Method - II (uploaded to the "Homework" section on LMS): If shapes or formulas are required to be used in the answers, this exam will be done as the Classic Exam with the title "homework" on the LMS. In these exams, the questions will be asked to you through the homework application, and your answers will be written on A4 (Photocopy) paper; you have to write by hand, with a pen and on one side of the paper. You must transfer all answer sheets to JPG / PDF format by taking pictures from the mobile phone or by transferring them to the computer environment with a scanner. Answers prepared as JPG / PDF to the "homework" application defined under the relevant course in the LMS system will be uploaded until the desired time and the exam will be completed. Answers sent outside the exam period and via an external LMS will not be evaluated.

Midterm Dates: 21 November 2020 - 29 November 2020

Miscellaneous Information

Information on the use of distance education automation systems will be provided by the Distance Education Application and Research Center (BANUZEM).

BANUZEM will provide information on starting, saving, and uploading the course session.

Program Representatives have been appointed to solve the problems our students and academic staff encounter during the realization of distance education activities. If the program representatives cannot solve the problems, the problems experienced will be solved as soon as possible by using the instant communication application created by BANUZEM for technical support.

We hope the 2020-2021 academic year will be successful ...
