A Book on Erdek is Preparing by the History, Culture and Art Studies Application and Research Center

One of the founding purposes of our University History, Culture and Art Studies Application and Research Center (TAKSAM) is to carry out publication activities related to Bandırma and its surroundings. Our center is trying to create a City Archive with the documents it continues to collect from various state institutions and individuals, especially the Ottoman Archive. As a result of these studies, more than twenty thousand historical documents about Bandırma and its surroundings have been reached and this number is increasing rapidly with ongoing research. Before the establishment of our center, some of the thousands of documents obtained in the Archive works were selected and thematic exhibitions were organized on various dates. Now, based on some documents related to Bandırma and its surroundings, our center has started a book on “Erdek in Ottoman Archive Documents”. The book was written by Assoc. Dr. Kurtuluş Demirkol, Dr. Cengiz Şeker and Dr. Engin Çağman. It was edited by the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Zekai Mete. It is prepared by a team consisting of Faculty Member.
