Head of our Faculty Art History Department Prof. Dr. Nurettin Koçhan attended "Balıkesir Archeology Meetings"

Head of our Faculty Art History Department Prof. Dr. Nurettin Koçhan participated in "Balıkesir Archeology Meetings". Prof. Dr. Nurettin Koçhan emphasized the importance of the ancient city of Kyzikos, as well as Erdek and Bandırma, for Balıkesir and its contributions to the tourism of the city.

The excavations unearthed as a result of long-term studies increase the importance of the ancient city of Kyzikos for our region. Referring to the stage reached in the Kyzikos excavations, Prof. Dr. Nurettin Koçhan emphasized that the excavations should advance rapidly and material data should be brought to the city culture. He also emphasized the importance of the support of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Balıkesir Governorship, which are important public institutions of the city.

We wish success to Prof. Dr. Nurettin Koçhan who devoted an important part of his long academic life to the Kyzikos Excavations, in her future studies.
