Our Faculty Art History Assistant Professor Feride İmrana ALTUN's book titled "Three Churches in Soğanlıdere Valley of Cappadocia Region" has been published.

The work of our Faculty Art History Assistant Professor Feride İmrana Altun, covering the Karabaş, Canavar and Geyikli church in the Cappadocia region, begins with the detailed introduction of the socio-cultural and geographical characteristics of the region. The architectural and social characteristics of churches, the changes they have undergone starting from the years of construction, have been studied together with the painting program embroidered on the parts of the churches. Examining periodic changes, social differences, and the intellectual structure of the period in the light of visual and written documents, Dr. Feride İmrana Altun evaluated her work under the main headings of Karabaş Church and Manastır Community, Monster Church Catalog and Geyikli Church painting catalog. The painting programs of the churches and the depictions of the figures were evaluated iconographically.

Assistant Professor Doctor Feride İmrana Altun also examined the structural features of churches, transcriptions of inscriptions that are written documents, important scenes of Christian religious iconography and murals, together with their technical and social features.

This study, published as a result of a long process and effort, aimed to introduce the structures that exist as cultural heritage in the region to the scientific world. We wish success to our teacher, Assistant Professor Doctor Feride İmrana Altun, who has carried out many studies except for "three churches in the Soğanlıdere Valley of Cappadocia region".
